Most landed homes in Malaysia with a 60A single-phase supply can support a 7kW charger — but it depends on what other loads are already connected. When you WhatsApp us a photo of your distribution board (DB panel), we can do a rough assessment immediately. If we need to be certain, we'll do a proper load check on installation day before running any cable. We will not install a charger that risks tripping your supply — we'll tell you the issue and give you the solution instead.
To find out whether your home electrical supply is single-phase or three-phase, there are two reliable methods you can use:

Inspect your power company’s meter, as it typically indicates the type of supply. For instance, a meter box displaying terms like "3-phase-4-wire" and voltage ratings such as "380V, 3x220V" identifies a three-phase power supply. Conversely, a meter showing "220V" generally signifies a single-phase connection.

Yes. Every EV sold in Malaysia — BYD (Atto 3, Seal, Dolphin), Tesla (Model 3, Model Y), Proton e.Mas (5, 7), BMW (iX, i4), Volvo (EX30, EX40, XC40), Hyundai (Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6), Mercedes (EQA, EQS), and all others — uses the Type 2 (IEC 62196) connector standard. The HiCi 7kW and 22kW chargers are fully Type 2 compatible.
Once you confirm your order and pay the required 20% deposit to secure your installation slot, a Voltara technician will deliver the charger to your location and complete the installation process. The entire installation typically takes between 3 to 5 hours. This timeframe ensures professional setup and testing to guarantee your charger operates safely and efficiently.
